Participation Lodge Grey-Bruce is a not-for-profit organization that strives to empower and enrich the lives of the individuals we support. We have an amazing group of staff providing support for our clients and their choices, throughout our various programs and locations across the Grey-Bruce region. Our main physical site in Holland Centre is currently seeking 1 permanent part-time Team Lead (formally called UCP) to join our wonderful team!
Participation Lodge is home to 23 individuals who require varying degrees of support. Our small size and focus on developmental services allows you to use your nursing skills in a more individualized and calmer-paced work environment. What you will do:
- Act as charge nurse, leading the team in providing exceptional person-centered supports
- Assist with the development and follow-through of Individual Support Plans
- Assess individuals' needs and encourage healthy life decisions
- Administering and documenting medications
- Monitoring the health and wellness of the clients we support
- Facilitating communication between clients and their medical support team
Qualifications:
- PSW experience (preferred)
- UCP experience ideal (preferred)
- Leadership experience considered an asset
- Demonstrated sound nursing and critical thinking skills
- Unregulated Care Provider Course (preferred)
- Professional or personal experience working with individuals who have complex needs (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification (preferred, will provide training)
- Safe Management certified, (preferred or willingness to complete inhouse training)
- A clean driver's abstract to be added to company insurance, if use of our vehicles is required. (Successful applicants will be required to provide an up-to-date driver's abstract).
- Have a clear vulnerable sector screen, or willing to obtain.
- Comprehensive Health Screen, including a TB test.
