The University and Employment Preparation Department, Faculty of Education and Social Work, invites applications for the position of Limited Term Assistant Teaching Professor in the Education and Skills Training (ESTR) program. The program provides students with barriers to employment the knowledge, skills and training needed for entry-level job opportunities. The successful applicant will have the ability to foster a supportive and dynamic learning environment for young and mature adults who are working towards entry level employment positions and are working towards achieving greater independence.
DUTIES:
It is expected that the successful candidate will:
- Practice scholarly teaching in lectures, labs and practica
- Perform ongoing curricular development in lectures, labs and practica
- Create and maintain a quality and safe learning environment
- Support and advocate for ESTR students
- Contribute, through service, to Program, Department, Faculty, TRU, and the wider community
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of students
- Evaluate student performance and be available for student consultation
- Develop and supervise practicum placements
- Liaise with employers to support students in their practicum placements
- Travel to and from practicum placements
