Protrans Personnel Services is hiring a Forklift Operator on behalf of Kent Building Supplies. This is a one-month contract role with strong potential for extension based on business needs.
What’s In It for You?
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
- Pay Schedule: Weekly pay every Friday
About the Role
As a Forklift Operator, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the receiving department. This position requires a safety-focused and dependable individual who takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and maintaining high operational standards while contributing to a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation at all times
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and move materials
- Accurately pick and prepare customer orders, ensuring products are properly assembled and ready for pickup or shipment
- Inspect materials during handling and report any damages, defects, or inventory discrepancies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by removing debris such as cartons, banding, and pallets
- Proactively identify and report any safety concerns to a supervisor
- Support additional warehouse and operational tasks as require
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Basic English skills (reading and speaking)
- Strong physical ability (lifting, bending, squatting, and kneeling)
- CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots
- Clean criminal record
- A reliable, positive attitude and strong work ethic
