- Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the ability to perform heavy lifting in a fast-paced environment. The Forklift Operator plays a key role in ensuring accurate order picking, inventory management, and smooth distribution processes within our warehouse.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move materials and products throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload shipments with precision and care, adhering to safety protocols
- Pick, pack, and organize orders accurately using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely, handling materials weighing up to specified limits
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Utilize basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities during order picking
Experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, in a warehouse distribution setting preferred
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order processing and inventory control
- Experience with order picking processes in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills required for accurate order fulfillment and inventory management
Additional requirements :must be available for weekend on call work load
