Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Expediter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth communication between kitchen staff and front-of-house, manage order flow efficiently, and uphold high standards of food safety and quality. This role is essential in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the overall efficiency of our restaurant operations.
Duties
- Coordinate between kitchen staff and front-of-house to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Monitor food preparation and plating to meet presentation standards, including cake decorating when applicable
- Manage order accuracy and prioritize tasks to optimize workflow during busy periods
- Assist with food preparation, baking, and packaging as needed to support kitchen operations
- Ensure adherence to food safety protocols and proper handling of ingredients and finished products
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including kitchen surfaces and storage areas
- Support the team in setting up dining areas and replenishing supplies for smooth service flow
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries promptly and professionally
Skills
- Experience in restaurant settings, with knowledge of food industry standards
- Proficiency in cake decorating, baking, and general food preparation techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and servers
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic cooking skills with a focus on quality presentation and timely delivery of dishes
- Experience with packaging food items for takeout or delivery services is a plus
