Position Summary
RDI Roofing Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Roofing Shingle Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of residential roofing systems, safe work practices, and the ability to install asphalt shingles efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship and job site safety.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace asphalt shingle roofing systems on residential and light commercial buildings
- Remove and dispose of old roofing materials
- Install underlayment, ice and water shield, drip edge, flashing, vents, and related roofing components
- Ensure proper installation according to manufacturer specifications and building codes
- Work safely at heights using fall protection and safety equipment
- Operate ladders, pneumatic nail guns, and other roofing tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors
- Identify and report roof issues or structural concerns
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5+ years of shingle roofing experience
- Strong understanding of roofing practices and installation procedures
- Experience with residential roofing projects
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry 50–80 lbs regularly
- Knowledge of fall protection and safety regulations
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Fall Protection certification
- Elevated Work Platform or safety certifications considered an asset
- Experience with metal flashing and roof ventilation systems
- Ability to lead a crew or train helpers considered an asset
