Who We're Looking For
We are hiring an experienced Plumbing Supervisor to lead the plumbing scope on our Grimsby, Ontario project. This is a full-time, on site position for a minimum of one full year, with ongoing work to follow on future Rise Mechanical projects after this job. This role carries full responsibility for onsite crew leadership of approximately 10 plumbers, coordination with the general contractor, and code compliance on an active commercial construction site.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and supervise all on site plumbing installation activities, directing a crew of approximately 10 plumbers and apprentices
- Give clear direction to the crew, and be proactive in planning next steps so work progresses smoothly
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings, and manage RFIs and field changes with the project manager and consultants
- Manage material receiving and take off, and maintain organized materials take off binders
- Keep the site organized, and complete and maintain inspection forms and binders
- Sign off on pressure tests and task completion forms
- Make sure all work meets the Ontario Building Code, CSA and TSSA standards, and project specifications, through to inspection and commissioning sign off
- Enforce site safety programs and maintain compliance with WSIB, OHSA, and other regulations
- Manage crew scheduling, timesheets, material procurement and tracking, and productivity against project budget and schedule
- Act as the primary on site contact for the general contractor, the client, and facility staff on all plumbing related matters
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements
- Certificate of Qualification, Plumber (309A), Red Seal endorsement preferred
- A minimum of five to eight years of commercial or institutional plumbing experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or foreman role
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean abstract
- Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Background Check before starting
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, OHSA, and applicable CSA and TSSA standards
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated experience on large commercial or institutional construction projects, such as schools, colleges, or universities
- Familiarity with digital job tracking platforms
- Strong communication and jobsite leadership skills
- Experience mentoring apprentices through Skilled Trades Ontario requirements
