We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant/Law Clerk specialising in litigation to join our team in Etobicoke, Ontario. This permanent, full-time position is essential for supporting our legal professionals in managing case files and ensuring the smooth operation of our litigation processes. The ideal candidate will possess mid-level experience in a legal environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality legal support.
- Assist lawyers in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by organising case files and documentation.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Manage and maintain case management systems, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accessible.
- Manage litigation calendars and deadlines.
- Liaise with clients, lawyers, and court personnel to facilitate communication and information exchange.
- Prepare and file court documents in accordance with court rules and deadlines.
- Assist in discovery process and in the preparation of trials.
- A diploma or degree in paralegal studies, law, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal assistant or law clerk role, preferably within litigation.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
