Job Description:
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Server to join our hospitality team at Shanty Bay Golf Club. As a Server, you will be the face of our clubhouse restaurant, delivering outstanding service to golfers, members, and guests. Your role will contribute to the warm, community-oriented vibe that makes our club a favorite among locals and visitors alike, as praised in reviews for our excellent food and courteous staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with a warm, professional demeanor, ensuring a personalized dining experience in our clubhouse restaurant and patio.
- Take and deliver food and beverage orders accurately, offering recommendations based on our menu of sandwiches, wings, salads, and more, known for quality and value.
- Maintain a clean and inviting dining area, including table setup, clearing dishes, and adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with our team to ensure seamless service during regular dining hours and special events, such as tournaments and fundraisers.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, following club protocols.
- Respond to guest inquiries, special requests, or concerns with the same friendliness and attentiveness.
Qualifications:
- Previous serving experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred, ideally in a golf club or similar environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for customer service, mirroring the “friendly and courteous” staff praised by guests.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including familiarity with bar offerings (e.g., wine, beer, cocktails), is a plus.
- Must be at least 19 and have valid smart serve to serve alcoholic beverages, per Ontario regulations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, accommodating our busy golf season and event schedule.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs for carrying trays or setting up events.
- A positive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.
