Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Caretaker to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facility. This vital role ensures that our environment remains welcoming, hygienic, and well-maintained for staff, visitors, and clients alike. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward facilities upkeep.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks across all areas, including floors, restrooms, office, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
- Conduct routine janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold high hygiene standards
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, stripping, sealing, and other floor care procedures to ensure a polished appearance
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs or safety hazards promptly and assisting with light maintenance tasks
- Set up tables and chairs for events, take down tables and chairs after events
- Snow removal & salt walkways
- grass cutting
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings with knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment
- Familiarity with floor care processes such as buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, bending, and climbing ladders safely
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to cleaning chemicals and equipment usage
- Must be flexible and able to work varied shifts, including early morning, evenings, weekends and some holidays based on events scheduled
- Must have a valid drivers license and vehicle. Supplies may have to be picked up from to time
