The Opportunity:
We are recruiting a MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN (Eating Disorders Service)
- This is a regular full-time role to fill an existing vacancy (35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) based at 55 King St. W. Kitchener.
Team oriented and collaborative, you will provide recovery oriented support to adults presenting with eating disorders. This will include providing comprehensive mental health assessments within an interdisciplinary team model, consultation to community partners and the provision of evidenced based treatment individually and through group facilitation. This position reports to the Manager, DBT & Eating Disorders Services.
Qualifications:
- Masters level degree in social work, psychology, occupational therapy or relevant health or social science field
- Registration with relevant college/registering body
- 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a clinical capacity with individuals who have eating disorders (preferable within a specialized Eating Disorders Program)
- Training and/or education specific to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills in relation to treatment of eating disorders
- In-depth knowledge of complex clinical issues associated with eating disorders
- Experience in providing both individual and group therapy
- Experience managing high risk and crisis situations.
- Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to social and cultural diversity
- Highly developed organizational, communication and problem solving skills
- The ability to work collaboratively in a self-directed work team
- Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and various database software
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation as travel is required

CLASSIFICATION AND RATE OF PAY: Level 6 (OPSEU) - $37.09 to $45.21 per hour
