Element5 is seeking skilled CNC Operators to join our team on the Afternoons shift. This role is essential in our production process, where you will operate CNC machinery to transform raw materials into custom pieces.

Role Summary:
The CNC Operator plays a key role in transforming raw wood materials into high-quality, custom components. This position is responsible for programming and operating CNC machinery, interpreting specifications, and executing projects with precision under the guidance of the Production Supervisor. A passion for woodworking, attention to detail, and strong collaboration with team members are essential to ensuring the successful and timely delivery of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC, sander, and planer machines safely and efficiently.
- Load materials, verify order accuracy, and perform quality checks.
- Install connections, apply coatings, and complete surface repairs as needed.
- Follow production schedules and collaborate with the Production Manager to meet deadlines.
- Monitor machine performance, resolve drawing or production issues, and minimize material waste.
- Run and adjust pre-programmed CNC files using DDX software.
- Perform basic maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, supporting overall production goals.
- Perform other related duties as required to support production operations.
Professional Qualifications & Core Competencies:
- Experienced in operating and setting up CNC machines.
- Familiar with reading blueprints and interpreting engineered drawings.
- Basic experience using CNC interfaces (e.g., DDX or similar) to run pre-programmed jobs.
- Proficient in using woodworking tools and basic measurement/calibration tools.
- Able to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (valid certification preferred).
- Comfortable using basic computer applications for machine operation and reporting.
- Maintains professionalism in all interactions and communications.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to machine or material issues.
- Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Follows safety procedures and promotes a safe working environment.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary training in woodworking, CNC operation, or a related trade is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating and setting up CNC machines in a manufacturing or woodworking environment.
- Experience handling wood materials and working in a fast-paced production setting.
