OVERVIEW
Our client, a family-owned business, that has built a reputation for providing innovative, high-quality services are searching for an experienced Welder to join their team. They provide simple and easy turnkey solutions in the industrial, mining and rail industries. REPONSIBILITIES
· Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs; the focus is providing a complete, accurate, realistic, and timely repair to our customers
· Coordinate and complete repairs in an efficient manner and within assigned hours
· Notify the supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure the completion of job tasks
· Communicate and interact with crew members and the supervisor daily
· Follow all safety rules, keep the work area clean, and comply with all GRS Environmental Health and Safety Policies
· Ensure AAR, GRS, and customer quality assurance standards are met
· Other duties as assigned including special projects
REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to read and write English at a high school level
· Ontario driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
· Leadership experience is an asset
· Must be able to pass all required training, background check, and drug & alcohol testing
· CWB x 1 certified with good mechanical skills may also be considered
· Able to work safely around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, and railroad tracks
· Must work in all types of weather conditions
· Mechanical aptitude would be considered an asset
· Ability to independently establish work tasks to successfully meet expectations and scheduling deadlines
· Perform/ prioritize multiple tasks with attention to details
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic blueprints and schematics
· Ability to follow work orders
· Able to work at heights/ confined spaces is required
· Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel-toed boots, eye protection, earplugs, gloves, hot work PPE, and fall protection gear
