OVERALL PURPOSE:
To participate in the safe, accurate and timely processing - unload, sort, cross dock and/or load outbound freight, to meet Loomis on-time performance standards.
- Location: 17 Willow Dr, North Bay ON P1B 8Z4
- Work Hours: Monday 1:00am until completion of sort (aprox 7am) Tues-Friday (2am to aprox 7am)
MAJOR ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated PC Skills for processing waybills on automated shipping system.
- Unload and/or load trailers safely, correctly, and quickly.
- Accurately sort & process, by deadlines, in and outbound material.
- Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for mis-sorts, on-hands, etc.
- Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment.
- Participate in scanning and cubing compliance procedures.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESULTS:
- Responsible for internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Handle shipments in a manner that minimizes damage.
- 100% accuracy in sort to minimize mis sorts.
- Paperwork is 100% complete, accurate and on time.
- Follow policy and procedures as outlined by operations supervisor and lead hand.
- Maintain a secure and safe working environment for all staff.
- Comply with Collective Agreement.
- Alert operations management of service issues immediately as they occur.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Must take the Transport of Dangerous Goods and WHMIS training courses
- Valid G license, with clean driver’s abstract
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Canpar/UPS operations system(s) and equipment.
- High School diploma.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Often fatiguing or uncomfortable - hot or cold warehouse environment(s) dependent upon season. The job might often require concentrated levels of attention and physical activity. Tension and time constraints may be an on-going aspect of the job.
