JUNIOR LAWYER
1-3 YEAR CALL
SURREY + KELOWNA | HYBRID OR IN PERSON
Imperium LLP is growing, and we are looking for a junior lawyer who wants more than a narrow supporting role.
Our firm advises businesses and financial-services clients across lending, real estate, and general commercial matters. As our practice expands, we are looking for someone to work closely with our partners, become a trusted part of the firm, and take on meaningful responsibility from the outset.

A broad role with room to grow
This is intentionally a broad position. The successful candidate will assist with client files, transactions, legal research, drafting, and the practical work of moving matters forward. They will collaborate with our lawyers, paralegals, legal assistants, clients, and outside professionals, and will gradually take greater ownership of matters as their judgment and confidence develop.
Some of the work will arise from our established lending and real-estate practices, but we do not expect a junior lawyer to arrive with a fully formed specialization. We are prepared to teach our systems and practice areas. Just as importantly, we want to give the right person opportunities to explore other areas of interest, build client relationships, and shape a practice of their own over time.
Who will thrive here
We expect this opportunity to suit a lawyer called within approximately the last one to three years in any Canadian province or territory. Where the candidate is presently called is less important to us than sound judgment, initiative, reliability, curiosity, and the ability to work well with both clients and colleagues. If additional membership in Alberta or British Columbia becomes necessary, we can address that with the successful candidate.
Prior experience in real estate, private lending, or any particular legal software is not required. A book of business is not required either. We are looking for a capable lawyer who learns quickly, takes responsibility seriously, and wants to grow with a firm where good work is noticed.
Working arrangement and compensation
The role may be structured as hybrid or in person depending on the candidate's circumstances and the needs of the firm. Our primary offices are in Surrey and Kelowna, British Columbia, and we are open to discussing the arrangement that makes sense for the right person.
The anticipated salary range is $80,000 to $110,000, depending on experience and circumstances. The position also includes performance-based bonus opportunities and additional earning potential connected to individual billings, originated work, and agreed performance goals. Compensation and responsibility can grow as the role develops.
If you are a recently called Canadian lawyer looking for variety, responsibility, strong mentorship, and the chance to become part of a growing firm, we would be pleased to hear from you.
