Role Description
The Dispatch Assistant is a full-time, on-site position based at our headquarters in Woodstock, ON. This role involves coordinating and scheduling specialized dispatch operations, maintaining accurate records, and communicating effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
Responsibilities include preparing load sheets, monitoring delivery timelines, addressing operational challenges, and ensuring a smooth workflow to achieve company objectives. A critical component of this role is helping our drivers navigate complex heavy-haul routes across North America. Attention to detail, quick problem-solving, and strong organizational abilities are essential to excel in this position.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate & Schedule: Manage customer shipments and prepare comprehensive load sheets for specialized freight.
- Driver Support & Navigation: Communicate consistently with drivers, providing routing assistance and tracking shipments in real time.
- Cross-Border Compliance: Facilitate smooth international logistics by managing border customs documentation.
- System Management: Utilize internal dispatch systems and fleet management software to maintain precise data entry and workflow tracking.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Dispatch & Fleet Systems: Prior knowledge or strong familiarity with Fleet Manager or similar dispatch software.
- Customs Knowledge: Familiarity with BorderConnect, ACI, and ACE e-manifest systems is highly preferred.
- Geographical Expertise: Strong geographical sense of direction and knowledge of North American routing to effectively guide and support drivers.
- Soft Skills: Must be a proactive, adaptable team player who works well under pressure and can meet tight deadlines.
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (additional training/education in logistics or business administration is a plus). Experience in dispatch or a related transport field is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 - $75,000 / year
