Job Overview
We are hiring a part-time Homes Not Handcuffs (HNH) Housing Support Worker to join our Regina team. This role supports women and gender-diverse individuals living in Homes Not Handcuffs sober living housing, as well as individuals in the community working toward housing stability and recovery.
This position focuses on day-to-day support, housing stabilization, and recovery-oriented care. The ideal candidate is compassionate, trauma-informed, and comfortable supporting individuals with diverse needs in both housing and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support
- Provide day-to-day support to residents in program-supported housing
- Assist participants in maintaining routines and housing responsibilities
- Provide practical support related to daily living and stability
Housing Stabilization
- Support participants with budgeting and accessing income supports
- Assist with tenancy maintenance and addressing housing concerns
- Help resolve issues that may impact housing stability
Recovery and Wellness Support
- Encourage participation in recovery programming and wellness activities
- Support access to treatment, counselling, and health services
- Provide accompaniment to appointments as needed
Community Integration
- Connect participants to employment, education, and training opportunities
- Support access to cultural supports and community programs
Program Operations
- Maintain program documentation and participant files
- Participate in team meetings and case planning
- Assist with housing move-ins and participant orientation
Qualifications
Required:
- Diploma or experience in social services, addictions support, or community outreach
- Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or addiction
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Experience working in housing or supportive living environments
- Knowledge of Regina-based community resources and supports
