Join our team as Maintenance Manager!
We’re looking for a hands-on, organized professional to keep our 40 properties running smoothly. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving and working with a diverse team in our busy and beautiful Canmore. You will have access to a company phone, company van and an office with a mountain view - not the typical underground shop!
Schedule:
- Work hours: 10AM – 5PM, with overtime and after-hours coverage when needed.
- Availability on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday are a must (5th day – yours to choose).
General Oversight
- Oversee and perform day-to-day operations across all properties (post-departure inspections, work orders, preventive and reactive maintenance).
- Supervise maintenance team members, assign and delegate tasks, manage schedules.
- Ensure all work complies with safety, health, and building codes.
- Oversee and ensure all procedures related to onboarding new units are properly implemented.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety systems, appliances, lock controllers, etc.).
- Respond promptly to urgent repair requests from guests or staff.
- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and replacements.
- Ensure guest-facing equipment (TVs, lighting, Wi-Fi, etc.) is functional.
- Overseeing seasonal maintenance and servicing of company's vehicles.
Guest Service & Communication
- Respond to guest concerns quickly and professionally.
- Communicate clearly with Guest Services about status of issues.
Team Leadership & Training
- Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and ensure ongoing skill development.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Keep up to date with municipal codes, licensing, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for chemicals in use.
Budgeting & Procurement
- Manage the maintenance budget and control costs.
- Source, negotiate, and coordinate with external vendors and contractors.
- Maintain adequate stock of tools, parts, and consumables.
Reporting & Administration
- Document all maintenance work orders, completions, and follow-ups.
- Prepare regular reports on property condition, equipment lifespan, and costs.
- Report major issues or risks promptly to senior management.
- Create and update data bases with technical information related to the units.
Experience
- Proven management experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Extensive mechanical knowledge including electrical experience, HVAC systems, low voltage wiring, and schematics interpretation.
- Experience working with Maintain X software for scheduling and tracking maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication skills in English.
- Prior experience supervising teams in a fast-paced setting is highly desirable. This role requires a dedicated professional capable of managing complex maintenance operations while leading a team to uphold the highest standards of property quality and safety.
Pay: $57,000.00-$59,000.00 per year
