Position: Camp Counsellor – MAC Summer Camps 2026
MAC Summer Camps will take place at two locations this year: MAC Vancouver Islamic Centre, running from July 6 to August 28 (9 weeks), in addition to two mandatory training days in June.
Camp Leaders are required to be available for the entire duration of the program, including training days. Please note that no vacation or time-off requests will be approved during the camp period.
The camp operates Monday to Friday, and Camp leaders are expected to be present for all scheduled camp hours.
Note: This position will be for the role of Camp Counsellor at MAC Summer Camps 2026.

Participate in staff training.

Participate in pre-camp required process design sessions

Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.

To ensure participants' safety: o Games and Equipment are used properly.

Supervise all Participants at all times.

Participants are not allowed to wander alone.

Younger participants are escorted to bathrooms, in the park/outdoor or field trips.

Make sure all equipment and supplies necessary for activities are available and return all equipment/supplies away in their proper place.

Ability to use resources, be a resource to Leader & Leader Assistant

Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas.

This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.

Perform general administrative tasks: draft and revise documents, manage correspondence, maintain files (digital and paper), and make photocopies

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of camp activities and daily schedules

Ensure clear communication with parents and respond to inquiries or concerns to maintain a high standard of customer service

Manage camper registration processes and maintain accurate attendance and fee tracking records

Oversee supply management and ensure all required materials are procured on time

Supervise and support campers throughout all camp activities, ensuring their safety and well-being

Lead and motivate camp staff and volunteers to ensure successful program delivery

Monitor incidents, complete incident reports, and report to the camp manager as needed

Participate actively in daily operations and be a key point of contact for staff and parents
