The Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the manufacturing environment, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role involves leading a team of CNC operators, coordinating workflow, and providing training and support to ensure efficient production processes. The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during the shift to ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to new employees on operational procedures, machinery, and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery, tools, and work areas to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Collaborate with management to implement process improvements and optimize workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues with equipment such as CNC machines, milling machines, and hand tools.
- Utilize SolidWorks and CAD software for fabrication projects as needed.
Schedule: Night shift (Sunday- Thursday) must be open to helping on other shifts when needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment; prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate forklifts and other machinery safely.
- Familiarity with machining processes, including basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Proficiency in using SolidWorks or similar CAD software for design and fabrication tasks.
- Experience with CNC operations is a plus; hands-on experience with milling & Lathe machines is required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with other departments.
- Must be able to lift heavy materials as required by the job.
