Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to ensure timely delivery of freight across various regions. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to manage logistics efficiently. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other essential systems
- Load and unload freight using equipment such as forklifts when necessary (training provided if needed)
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo documentation in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Perform basic maintenance or troubleshooting on trucks and heavy equipment as needed (automotive repair knowledge is a plus)
- Ensure proper handling of freight, including securing loads to prevent damage during transit
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in freight transportation or long-haul trucking preferred
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as forklifts is advantageous
- Familiarity with automotive repair or basic vehicle maintenance is a plus
- Experience with freight handling and logistics management is beneficial
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments
This position requires a responsible individual capable of managing long hours on the road while maintaining safety standards. Candidates should be prepared for extensive travel and possess the necessary skills for efficient freight delivery.
Pay: $60,000.00-$93,000.00 per year
