The Role
The Quality Control Inspector will play a key role in inspection functions of products and raw materials in accordance with our quality programs.
What You Will Do
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create (NCR) non-conformance reports
- Inspect and measure parts and compare to specifications, drawings, and materials certifications
- Inspection may include: Incoming materials, Machined and Fabricated Components, Welding Inspection, Electrical Assemblies and finished product inspection prior to shipping.
- Ensure valid calibration records for all testing equipment used to verify materials.
- Participate in Third-Party Inspections / Customer inspections / Quality audits
- Record / Track quality issues encountered
- Follow all safety laws, regulations, codes, policies, and procedures
- Ensure all safety equipment is used and work in a safe and conscientious manner
KnowledgeQualifications
- Understanding of ASME codes is an asset
- Understanding of NDE processes is an asset
- Education in Mechanical or Electrical discipline is an asset
- At least 2 years of experience in Quality department is required
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- This role requires you to communicate with multiple departments on daily basis
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Ability to read ITPs and related documents, procedures and standards
- Ability to use and understand measuring equipment/instruments
- Mathematical aptitude: must be able to work with fractions and metric measurements
- Metrology skills and knowledge: able to use measuring devices such as tape measure, Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges and other measuring instruments
Physical Requirements
- 20/20 vision or vision corrected to 20/20 with the use of prescription safety glasses
- Long periods of standing and walking
- Lifting is required, but usually limited to a maximum of 20 lbs. (lifting devices supplied)
