Carpenter / Lead Hand
EcoCraft Developments is a growing residential home builder in the Annapolis Valley, known for well-designed homes, quality craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
We're looking for an experienced carpenter who can lead others and take ownership on the jobsite. Someone who thinks ahead, solves problems, keeps projects moving, and leads by example.
We believe the best results come from strong systems, clear communication, and a team that's genuinely bought into both. We welcome ideas that make us better, but once a process is established, we need someone who can work within it and help others do the same.
This is a hands-on carpentry position with the opportunity to take on greater site leadership responsibilities over time.
What you'll do
- Perform a wide range of residential carpentry work.
- Lead and work alongside another carpenter.
- Read plans and complete work with minimal supervision.
- Keep jobsites organized, safe, and professional.
- Plan ahead to ensure materials, tools, and information are ready before they're needed.
- Solve problems and communicate issues before they hold up the job.
- Help coordinate work on site and keep projects moving.
- Maintain high standards for quality and craftsmanship.
We're looking for someone who...
- Has strong hands-on residential carpentry skills.
- Takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do.
- Thinks about tomorrow while finishing today's work.
- Is dependable, honest, and accountable.
- Can lead others through attitude, communication, and work ethic.
- Treats clients, trades, and coworkers with respect.
- Takes pride in quality work and attention to detail.
- Wants to grow with the company over the long term.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience building wood-frame homes using Canadian construction methods and materials.
- Experience across multiple stages of residential construction.
- Ability to read residential construction plans and work independently.
- Experience leading or mentoring others is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Must currently live within commuting distance of the Annapolis Valley.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. No sponsorship or relocation assistance is available for this position.
What we offer
- $30–38/hour, based on experience and leadership ability.
- Year-round, full-time work.
- Opportunity for increasing responsibility and advancement.
- A respectful, organized workplace where quality matters.
- A company that values integrity, efficiency, continuous improvement, and doing things the right way.
If this sounds like the kind of team you'd like to be part of, we'd like to hear from you.
