We are a locally owned and operated company within the Edmonton Area. We serve the community with Gravel, Water& Septic Hauling Services. We are seeking a full-time journeyman heavy duty mechanic to join our team.
Responsibilities

Participate in monthly safety meetings.
Ability to fabricate and think outside the box and find innovative solutions to completing repairs if a challenge arises.
Conduct vehicle inspections and reporting any problems.
Making sure tools and equipment are working safely and properly.
Complying with company and government regulations
Properly disposing of used oil, radiator fluid, worn-out parts, and other components
Knowledge and experience with Valve lash sets
Good understanding of pumps, hydraulic systems as well as installing PTO's & Wet Kits.
Knowledge of Electrical components and troubleshooting skills an asset
Extensive understanding of repair equipment and how vehicles work, knowledge of Cummins engines preferred.
Willingness to deal with dirt, dust, oil, gas, and other unpleasant or potentially hazardous substances.
Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing any defective parts
Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work
Diagnosing malfunctions or problems using a computerized system or testing equipment to determine the root cause of any issues
Carrying out any repairs as needed.
Understanding the inner workings of various machines such as skid steers, loaders Various small engines etc.
Respond to calls on equipment failure in the field, react in a timely matter to keep equipment running.
Keep logs of all performed maintenance, maintenance schedules, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements
Current Valid CVIP License
Valid Class 5 Driver's License required.
Valid Class 3 Driver's License & Air Brakes an asset but not required.
Experience with working on relevant equipment and trucks (Tractors, End dumps, Tandem Dump, Water & Vac Trucks)
Competent with driving manual trucks and towing trailers
First Aid Certification considered an asset
Steel toed safety boots required

· Self motivated and able to complete tasks autonomously
· Ability to move items like motor oil containers and tires
· Ability to do basic math, read gauges, and understand readouts on diagnostic equipment
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
