We are looking for a dependable individual to work as a Production Associate in our Waterloo facility. Shaver Industries is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment enabling the most suitable individuals to learn and grow within the company. The ideal candidate has prior experience in manufacturing with some inventory responsibility, with full-time availability, and their own transportation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Associate to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, inventory management, and solving day-to-day operational challenges in a fast-paced production environment. A suitable candidate will have a strong skill set that prioritizes accuracy, organization, and continuous improvement, while also embracing the opportunity to learn and perform a variety of assembly functions throughout the facility. You will work to ensure production operations and flow are supported, while also remaining flexible with shifting priorities. The candidate must be adaptable and able to pick up new skills easily and be excited for opportunities to learn and grow with the company.
As a Production Associate, you will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, tracking materials, supporting production schedules, and ensuring quality standards are met. This position offers the unique opportunity to become cross-trained in multiple assembly stations, allowing you to develop a broad understanding of our manufacturing processes and contribute wherever support is needed. We value team members who are curious, adaptable, and eager to expand their skills while collaborating with colleagues across departments to drive operational success.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Basic math skills and arithmetic
- Comfortable with iPad and tablet technology
- Netsuite and/or CRM experience is an asset
- Experience adjusting inventory on ERP
- Uphold best practices of production within working environment area.
- Ensure policies and procedures are being followed (health and safety, internal processes)
- Working with textiles and plastics.
- Light Manufacturing and assembly environment
- When applicable, suggest and implement improvements to workflows, procedures, and efficiencies in your area.
- Work with your supervisor and team to ensure products are prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure inventory is kept organized and labelled in your area and in cooperation with your supervisor.
- Comfortable with standing for shifts up to 9 hours
- Inventory (Spotcounts) is an asset
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
· High School Diploma;
· Must be committed to quality control for finished products;
· Must have a team first mindset;
· Attention to detail is essential;
· Individual must be safety oriented;
· Able to follow instructions based on daily changing priorities;
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
· Prior experience in production and assembly (Preferred);
· Should be able to use tools comfortably (saw/impact/drills);
· Mechanically inclined, with a strong understanding of basic equipment operation
· Ability to accurately use a tape measure for precise measurements.
**Steel-toe boots and other PPE (supplied) will be required
WORK HOURS:
· Monday to Thursday: 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM
· Friday: 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
· Occasional overtime may be required.
