Job Summary
We are seeking a dispatcher to join our team that is professional, organized and outgoing. This position is a daytime shift, Monday to Friday and weekends as needed. We are looking for a one in a million person to bring to our team that will not only effectively dispatch 20 local GTA trucks and drivers. This person will also be an excellent communicator with customers, and drivers alike. A team player who is dedicated to growing and prospering in a company for the long term.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule transportation for shipments, ensuring timely delivery and efficient routing.
- Analyze transportation data to optimize delivery schedules and improve service levels.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders to relay important information regarding shipments.
- Utilize phone systems to manage incoming calls and provide excellent phone etiquette while addressing inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities using AVAAL and Samsara Applications.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Monitor the status of shipments and proactively address any issues that may arise during transit.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics role is required.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes and transportation management systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using AVALAL, SyteLine, or similar software applications is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data and make informed decisions quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must have expert knowledge of the GTA and surroundings.
- Knowledge of MTO rules and regulations as asset.
