Groupe Sani-Tech is a subcontractor in the construction industry. We manufacture and distribute architectural building products. We’ve actually been the biggest player in our field in Quebec for over 45 years. Not bad, right?! Our 60 employees will tell you: it’s an awesome place to spend 35–40 hours a week!
What does the estimator position involve?
Reporting to the Sales and Estimating Director, the estimator manages the bidding process, from quantity take-offs to pricing. The estimator plays a key role in negotiating with suppliers and clients to ensure maximum project success and profitability. Maintaining good relationships with clients and suppliers is essential to the company’s success.

There is still some work to do, like:
Analyze and prioritize opportunities;
Interpret technical specifications in architectural plans and drawings;
Perform quantity take-offs from plans;
Communicate with suppliers to request prices and negotiate;
Prepare and draft bids and deposits;
Respond courteously and proactively to technical questions from architects and clients;
Achieve monthly and annual estimating targets;
Follow up diligently on bids and document all actions in our CRM;
Maximize the potential of opportunities;
Act as a trainer for new employees; and
Actively contribute to company goals while promoting the improvement of work methods, problem-solving, and team skill development.
Qualifications sought:
College diploma in architecture, building drafting DEP, construction estimating AEC, or equivalent experience;
Experience in the construction sector;
Strong skills in reading plans and specifications;
Ability to manage priorities and work under tight deadlines;
Very good computer skills;
English proficiency sufficient to work with anglophone suppliers;
Excellent analytical skills;
Team player;
Quick learner able to master all products; and
Ability to be persuasive, overcome objections, and reopen negotiations to close sales with clients.
