In your role as Batcher at Global Beverage & Logistics Centre Inc, your duties and responsibilites may include but not be limited to:
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To prepare, mix, blend and deliver on time, good quality products according to the batching formulas and specifications prepared by the lab and to follow all procedures for High Acid Line.
- To receive all bulk materials according to company procedures. Where necessary submit samples to lab before batching
- Monitor and effectively run both the UHT or HTST processor
- To ensure proper connections are made so there are no looses.
- Perform startup and changeovers for high acid line
- To coordinate and assist with forklift drivers to receive the ingredients on time by asking the right person assigned to help the batchers during the shift.
- In writing, submit ingredient requests for proper inventory
- To properly close, tape and tag the unused drums and bags before you ask the forklift driver to remove them from the batching area.
- To monitor and maintain the right temperature and proper storage of ingredients.
- Adhere to time and temp abuse regulation by not leaving too many pallets of ingredients for the current or the next batch to open to the environment.
- Keep your area clean, secure, and tidy with no congestion.
- To use the proper/correct ingredients. To have all minor ingredients like vitamins and colour weighed and signed by QC personnel.
- To utilize and ensure any rework authorized by QC before is consumed before completing the batching task.
- Operate and troubleshoot High Acid Line processing system.
- Perform operator-related preventative maintenance duties on assigned equipment.
- Properly label all containers used in work area.
- To follow the batch sheet instructions for proper procedures (pasteurization and filling temperature).
- To eliminate all losses during batching and running the product.
- To complete all the batch sheets correctly/accurately including all Lot NO.’s of ingredients and to keep all tags of the drums used for batching.
- To report to the supervisors and maintenance of any improper functioning equipment.
- To advise your supervisor of improvements to your area or in the process.
- To maintain GMP’s, proper hygiene and follow allergen control procedures in the batching area, receiving area and ingredient areas of the plant.
- To ensure all doors to the batching area are closed and no tanker driver or any unauthorized persons are in your area.
- Maintain assigned equipment, work areas clean and tidy, including CIP and COP to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Maintain and complete accurate records and logs as required.
- Understand and follow receiving, batching and processing procedures for variance control.
- To work in a safe and healthy environment.
- To lock the chemical cage and receiving ports after use and return the keys to the proper place.
- To have competently learned and perform ALL aspects and job functions in the batching department.
- To assist and perform training to new hires.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Education
- Must competently be able to perform all tasks on high & low acid or equivalent batching .
- Basic reading, writing, and communication skills
- Mobility to all areas of the facility
- Must have completed all training forms and signed off by employee and department supervisor or designate.
- Ability and flexible to work shifts and overtime as required.
