Civil Construction Foreman

Fredex Construction Inc. is a locally owned and operated civil construction company serving the Okanagan Valley. We specialize in a wide range of earthworks and infrastructure projects, including:
- Building excavations and associated earthworks
- Bulk earthworks (e.g., winery developments and other land developments)
- Deep utility installations (water, sanitary, and storm)
- Shallow utility installations (Shaw, BC Hydro, Fortis, Telus, and construction electrical)
- Sub-base and base gravel preparation for concrete and asphalt
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Foreman to help lead our field teams across various civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and driven to exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily supervision and leadership to crew members on-site
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, promoting best practices and compliance at all times
- Interpret blueprints and construction drawings to plan and execute work accurately
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
- Ensure adherence to MMCD and local municipal standards
- Maintain accurate site paperwork and documentation
- Operate equipment (excavators, skid steers, dozers) when needed — experience with John Deere is an asset
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Ensure work is completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record
- Minimum 3–5 years of civil construction experience, including supervisory roles
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with MMCD standards and municipal specifications
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment is an asset
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
