We are currently recruiting a Facilities Cleaner to join our Edmonton production facility.
Position Summary
The Facilities Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment throughout the production facility, offices, and staff areas.
This position focuses primarily on facility cleaning duties within our chocolate production areas.
Responsibilities
- Follow all Company policies, food safety programs, and Health & Safety standards
- Sweep, mop, and scrub and wipe floors
- Help clean and sanitize equipment within the chocolate production areas
- Remove garbage and recycling from production and common areas
- Clean and sanitize staff washrooms, lunchrooms, and office spaces
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces including doors, handles, windows, and shared equipment
- Operate cleaning equipment such as auto floor scrubbers
- Assist with scheduled janitorial of facility areas
- Clean floor drains, walls, vents, and other facility surfaces as required
- Report equipment or sanitation concerns to management
- Support additional cleaning and sanitation duties as required
Work Environment
- Food manufacturing facility environment
- Exposure to hot and cold conditions, dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals
- Work requires standing, walking, bending, repetitive movements
- Constant lifting during shift of up to 50 lbs
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
- Previous cleaning or janitorial experience required
- Experience in food manufacturing sanitation is considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
- Comfortable using cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Physically capable of lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Ability to work cooperatively in a small team environment
Note: CSA-approved steel-toe footwear is required.
