Best Culture Solutions is seeking a Contract Specialist for our client in the Fort McMurray region. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of contracts and proposals, from development through execution and ongoing administration. This position reports directly to the Contracts Manager or designate.
This role works closely with internal stakeholders, clients, legal teams, finance, operations, and supply chain management networks to ensure contracts are effectively structured and managed in alignment with business objectives and organizational standards. How You’ll Move the Needle
Contract Administration
- Administer contracts throughout their full lifecycle, including amendments, renewals, and close-out activities.
- Draft, review, and coordinate contracts, agreements, and related commercial documentation.
- Review contractual terms and support negotiations to ensure alignment with business objectives and risk considerations.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and auditable contract records.
- Monitor contract milestones, key dates, and deliverables to support timely renewals and amendments.
- Act as a coordination point between legal, finance, operations, and management to support contract and proposal administration.
Proposal Support
- Contribute to the development and preparation of proposals and bid submissions.
- Coordinate proposal documentation, approvals, and final submission packaging.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and refine content to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality.
- Review commercial terms within proposals to ensure alignment with contract strategy and risk considerations.
Change Management (Contracts)
- Draft, review, and process change orders, amendments, and contract supplements.
- Ensure all contract changes are accurately documented and aligned with original contractual intent and commercial terms.
Document Control & Systems Management
- Maintain document control standards for contracts, proposals, and related commercial documentation.
- Ensure consistent use of document management and CRM systems.
- Maintain and update templates, tools, and reference materials to support consistency and efficiency.
Reporting
- Prepare regular reporting on contract and proposal activities for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and timely data within CRM and contract management systems.
- Provide clear and professional communication regarding documentation requirements, timelines, and processes.
What You Need to Succeed
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management in the oil sands is required.
- High degree of professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, communication, and presentation skills.
What Would Give You an Edge
- Post-Secondary education such as diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or relevant discipline is an asset.
- Experience in contract administration, proposal development, or commercial support roles is preferred.
- Industry specific knowledge within the oil sands or industrial services sector.
- Experience utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) software is an asset.
- Experience supporting proposal development and contract governance activities.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management and collaboration skills.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, moderate- to high-pressure office environment.
- Interacts with senior level management, colleagues, and clients.
- Travel as required.

- Fort McMurray, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
