We are currently seeking a full-time Dispatcher to join our team. Responsible for scheduling and coordinating our team of school bus drivers, this position is tailor-made for an industry professional with a focus on customer service and passenger satisfaction. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Previous dispatch experience required, preferably in the school bus industry
- Operations experience considered an asset
- Good knowledge of Toronto city roadways
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy
- Expertise in organizational planning and problem solving
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that drivers and staff are treated in a fair and consistent manner using the guidelines and rules
- Ensure school routes are covered in an efficient and fair manner
- Set up and input data accurately for driver payroll for the yard’s assigned routes
- Assist in answering public and driver inquiries and finding solutions to concerns
- Ensure all required paperwork/requests is completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Create/improve existing Operations systems
- Have a basic understanding of the school bus fleet
- Keep appropriate staff informed of any major issues, changes, concerns etc. in an expedient fashion
