Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Level II Dental Assistant with a minimum of 2 year of dental experience to join our practice full time. If you are warm, patient, upbeat, and amazing with children, we’d love to meet you!
In this position, you will work closely with our clinical team to support new patient exams and provide high-quality care for patients of all ages. You should be confident, organized, and able to create a calm, positive experience for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist with new patient exams and recall appointment.
- Perform digital scans, radiographs, and charting with accuracy as needed.
- Support appliance inserts with excellent communication and child-friendly explanations. Communicate clearly with patients and parents.
- Maintain sterilization and infection-control protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and scanners are ready for use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
- Manage patient medical records and documentation accurately within Abeldent.
- Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental wellness.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical coding for billing purposes.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic environment.
- Excellent with patients and staff with a fun dynamic/personality!
- Strong familiarity with Abeldent.
- Hands-on experience with chairside assisting techniques including taking vital signs, operating X-ray equipment, and utilizing scanners.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA standards.
- Must have NDAEB.
