We are currently seeking a full-time Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator to drive the continued success of our safety program. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring a safe working environment by promoting compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, preventing workplace incidents, and fostering a strong safety culture across our British Columbia facilities.

Role Overview
As the OH&S Coordinator, you will work closely with the General Managers/Plant Manager to oversee and enhance safety programs across 3 BC facilities including hospital offsite. You will take full ownership of safety-related matters, including policy development, risk assessments, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, and WorkSafeBC claims management. Additionally, you will play an active role in company committees, including the Health & Safety Committee and the Operations Team.
This position is based at both North Burnaby & South Burnaby facilities but will require a vehicle for travelling to other BC locations as needed, including our Victoria facility.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and monitor K-Bro’s OHS program to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and industry regulations.
· Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
· Conduct risk assessments and proactively implement preventative measures.
· Investigate incidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
· Lead and manage WorkSafeBC claims, overseeing all aspects from reporting to return-to-work programs.
· Provide guidance and training to employees and management on safety best practices.
· Develop and deliver safety training sessions, educational materials, and webinars.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 3 years of experience in an OHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
· Bachelor’s degree in safety management or a related field
· Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and safety compliance requirements
· Hands-on experience in OH&S policy development, risk assessment, and claims management
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
· OHS certification is preferred.
· Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
