Compensation & Hours:
- The rate of pay will be based on experience and industry standards
- Monday through Friday, daytime hours
- Overtime and travel opportunities may be available depending on project requirements
Position Summary:
- Lead and supervise steel erection and ironworker crews on commercial, industrial, institutional, and agricultural construction projects
- Coordinate daily site activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope
- Read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety
- Mentor, train, and support crew members while promoting accountability and teamwork
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure efficient project execution
- Conduct daily safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments
- Manage manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity
- Identify and resolve field challenges proactively and efficiently
- Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate progress updates to leadership
Required Qualifications:
- Journeyman Ironworker certification or significant steel erection experience considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience in steel erection, structural steel, or pre-engineered building construction
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead crews and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship
- Valid driver's license, clean driving abstract and willingness to travel to project sites as required
Bonus Points For:
- Additional trade certifications or supervisory training
- Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, First Aid, or other safety certifications
- Experience working on large-scale industrial or agricultural projects
- Strong background in mentoring apprentices and developing crews
