ABOUT THE ROLE
Turf Pro Outdoors is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Grounds Maintenance Team Lead to lead a dynamic crew and deliver high-quality landscape maintenance across our multi-residential properties. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and can keep a crew organized, productive, and working safely.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and direct the daily work of a grounds maintenance crew of 2–3 people.
- Review the daily plan with the crew and set clear expectations each morning.
- Delegate tasks and keep the crew on track and on schedule throughout the day.
- Ensure all outdoor areas are kept clean, safe and well-presented
- Attend tailgate meetings and Crew Lead meetings.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment including zero turns, push mower, string trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer, and stick edger.
- Complete sites to company quality standards and catch issues before leaving.
- Complete daily crew timesheets accurately and on time.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean, organized, and loaded safely.
- Train and support crew members in proper work methods and safe equipment use.
- Maintain a professional attitude and lead by example while on job sites and during client interactions.
- Oversee the development of crew members and consistently set the standards for work quality expectations.
- Report safety, equipment, or quality concerns to management promptly.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3-5 years of grounds maintenance experience.
- Valid Class G driver's licence required.
- Experience driving a truck and trailer combination.
- Proven ability to lead and direct a small team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Proficient with standard grounds maintenance equipment
- Clear, professional communicator with staff and clients.
- Reliability, accountability, and professionalism.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active outdoor role. You should be able to:
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist throughout the day.
- Lift 15–30 kg as needed.
- Perform repetitive hand movements including grasping, pushing, and pulling.
- Work at and above shoulder height.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, near mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles.
- The crew lead may be required to operate: small hand tools, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, push mowers, stand on mowers, walker mowers, zero turns, and a truck and trailer combination.
