Your Impact
As Advisor, General Training, you will play a key role in building a safe, capable, and engaged workforce at Red Chris. Through practical, hands-on training and effective onboarding, you will help employees, contractors, and visitors develop the knowledge and confidence needed to work safely, comply with site requirements, and contribute to operational success.
As Part of Our Team You Will
- Deliver site onboarding, orientation, and safety programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Facilitate classroom and field-based training for mobile and stationary equipment.
- Conduct Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments to validate skills and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate and support training activities during shutdowns and other operational initiatives.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure training compliance through systems such as SuccessFactors.
- Collaborate with supervisors and subject matter experts to align training with operational needs.
- Update and improve training materials, tools, and delivery methods to enhance learner engagement.
- Mentor employees and promote a strong safety culture through positive coaching and feedback.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mining, heavy industrial, or processing environments.
- Experience in a training, supervisory, safety, or operational leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver equipment, safety, or compliance-based training.
- Knowledge of site onboarding processes, workplace safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems; SuccessFactors experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with BC mining and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Train-the-Trainer, instructional certifications, or Mines Supervisor Certification are considered assets.
Your Work Environment
Based at the Red Chris Mine in northwest British Columbia, you will work closely with operational teams across site to deliver both classroom and field-based training. This role combines hands-on instruction, competency assessments, and training coordination in a dynamic mining environment. You will spend time in training facilities, administrative settings, and active operational areas, supporting a culture of safety, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
The expected salary range for this role is CA$85,400.00 - 113,900.00 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
