Here we grow again! Blackstone Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time veterinary assistant to join our very well-equipped veterinary hospital in East Gwillimbury. We are an independently owned Veterinary hospital run by two progressive and experienced veterinarians. We are the only Fear Free Certified Practice in York Region and we are proud to have recently achieved our AAHA accreditation and Cat Friendly Gold designation. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated team member with great customer service skills and a motivation to help grow the hospital. Our ideal candidate must be outgoing with a positive attitude, have excellent communication skills and a desire to build lasting relationships with clients, patients and the hospital team. Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital is ideal. You must have a special interest in our Fear Free practice philosophies and be willing to become Fear Free Certified if not already. A passion for client education is an asset.
Job responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to,
- Communication with clients and team members
- Answering phones, making appointments and invoicing clients
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Computer skills are a requirement and knowledge of various PIMS would be an asset
- Assisting our veterinarians and technicians
- Helping to maintain and keep the clinic clean
- Caring for hospitalized patients and creating a fear free environment
- Take initiative to get things done without supervision
- Other duties which are needed to maintain or improve the hospital
