The incumbent of this position ensures proper management of the department’s increasingly complex financial and administrative operations, centralizing budgeting, reporting, compliance, and administrative processes in alignment with board policies and funding requirements, while providing direct support to management through data and reporting and supervising administrative staff.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director – Service to Businesses and Communities (SBC), the incumbent is responsible for:
- Ensure compliance with funding agreements, audit requirements, and financial procedures;
- Coordinate and standardize administrative processes (travel, student files, allowances, documentation);
- Supervise administrative staff, including task allocation;
- Manage financial operations such as claims, reconciliations, and supporting documentation;
- Collaborate with internal Finance Departement and external partners (e.g., KRG) on financial and administrative matters;
- Produce reports, dashboards, and financial analyses to support decision-making;
- Support managers with planning, tools, and advisory on administrative and financial matters;
- Organize administrative priorities and workflows to ensure efficiency
- Implement and monitor administrative policies and procedures;
- Any other tasks required by the supervisor.
- Diploma of college studies in a relevant field of study;
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board
- Fluency in two of the three official languages of the school board (Inuktitut, English and French);
- Five years of relevant experience as a manager.
- Computer literacy (including Microsoft Excel and Word, FileMaker Pro, Dofin);
Class 00-04* as per the working conditions of KI’s managers: from $77,102 to $102,801 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
