Switzer-Carty Transportation Services is seeking a caring, patient, and dependable School Bus Monitor to help ensure students have a safe and positive transportation experience. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates kindness and patience, and is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for students during their ride to and from school.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure students have a safe and comfortable ride to and from school.
- Support the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
- Supervise and assist students while they are on the bus.
- Build positive relationships with children and provide encouragement and support.
- Engage with students in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Help manage student behaviour and de-escalate situations when challenges arise.
- Communicate any safety concerns or student needs to the appropriate staff.
- Assist students with entering, exiting, and safely moving throughout the bus as needed.
- Follow all transportation safety procedures and company guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Patient, kind, and compassionate approach when working with children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Dependable, responsible, and safety-focused.
- Previous experience working with children is an asset, but not required.
