Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks for short haul deliveries within designated routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of freight.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate loading and unloading procedures, utilizing equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems.
- Handle freight securely, ensuring proper stacking, securing loads, and preventing damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance records, and compliance documentation in accordance with transportation regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to optimize routes and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts when required for loading or unloading freight at facilities.
Requirements
- Valid AZ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly in short haul or local delivery routes.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols related to transportation operations.
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues during trips.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth operations.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as needed.
