Role Description
The Production Manager Millwork role is a full-time, on-site position based in New Westminster, BC. This role oversees day-to-day millwork production activities, including planning and scheduling jobs, coordinating workflow, and ensuring projects meet quality standards and deadlines. The Production Manager leads and supports production staff, assigns tasks, monitors performance, and promotes safe work practices. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, collaborating with engineering and project management, and optimizing the use of materials, machinery, and labor. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, and continuously improving processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of architectural woodwork and millwork, including experience with veneer casegoods, paneling, and solid wood trim.
- Experience managing production operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, workflow coordination, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and shop documents, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Leadership skills to supervise, mentor, and motivate production teams, and to foster a collaborative, safety-focused work environment.
- Proficiency in using production-related software or ERP systems, and familiarity with woodworking machinery and tools.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and quality standards.
- Effective communication skills for working with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Previous experience in millwork or architectural woodwork manufacturing; formal training or education in woodworking, manufacturing, or a related field is an asset.
