Job Description:
We are a private family based in the GTA seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced ABA Therapist/Instructor to work one-on-one with our 7-year-old daughter in a home-based setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and experience supporting children in developing communication, social, and daily living skills.
This role involves implementing individualized ABA programs, tracking progress, and collaborating with caregivers and any supervising professionals involved in the child’s care.
Successful candidates will have strong independent work skills, experience working in a home-based setting, and collaborate with parents on students behavioural programs and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Implement ABA programs and behaviour intervention plans as directed.
- Collect and record data accurately during sessions.
- Support skill development in communication, social interaction, and daily living.
- Use evidence-based ABA strategies to manage behaviours and reinforce positive outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and observations.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience as an Instructor Therapist (IT) or ABA Therapist implementing ABA/IBI programming (Required)
- ABA/Autism related Diploma/Certificate (Required).
- A College Diploma or University Degree in a related field is an asset.
- Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to work location.
- Ability to work independently in a private home setting.
Additional Requirements:
- Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
