Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our aquatic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching swimming skills to individuals of all ages and skill levels in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. This role offers an opportunity to promote water safety, build confidence, and foster a love for swimming among participants. Candidates should have a strong background in swimming and enjoy instructing others to improve their skills.
Duties
- Conduct swimming lessons tailored to the skill levels of participants, from beginners to advanced swimmers
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor participants during lessons to ensure safety and provide immediate assistance if needed
- Develop lesson plans that promote skill development, water safety awareness, and confidence building
- Maintain a clean and organized pool area before and after lessons
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement
- Enforce pool rules and safety guidelines at all times
- Assist in setting up equipment and preparing the pool for lessons
Experience
- Prior experience teaching swimming or related water safety instruction is preferred.
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate techniques confidently
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage learners of diverse ages and backgrounds
- Passion for teaching, water safety, and helping others achieve their goals in the water
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor award and National Lifeguard awards are required. Candidates will need to show proof of current awards.
