Hotch’s Auto Parts is a family owned and operated auto recycling business that has been in operation since 1984. We are looking to expand our team and add another long term member to our crew!
We are seeking a hard working, independent thinking Automotive Dismantler / Mechanic with a drive to succeed. While a mechanics license is not required, it is definitely a asset. Pay is based on performance with top level techs making over $30 per hour plus benefits. We operate a clean and safe shop environment and are looking for efficient, safe worker who is familiar with automotive parts. We dismantle late model vehicles, 2012-2026 model year and all makes and models. This is a team environment, helping other employees with lifting or other two man jobs is to be expected. This job does involve repetitive lifting up to 50lbs, we have equipment for anything heavier or team lift. You need to provide your own basic tools but specialized tools are provided by the company. Mechanical knowledge is required to be successful in this position.
Duties
- Dismantle vehicles efficiently by removing parts such as engines, transmissions, body panels, and electrical components using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems utilizing automotive diagnostics equipment and schematics.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn components including diesel engines, powertrain parts, suspension systems, and automotive electrical systems.
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as wheel alignments, brake repairs, and fluid changes to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Use welding techniques to repair or modify vehicle structures when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of dismantling processes, repairs performed, and parts inventory for accurate tracking.
- Adhere to safety protocols during all disassembly and repair activities while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes.
- Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), vehicle schematics, and automotive electrical systems.
- Skilled in diesel engine repair, powertrain diagnostics, and auto body repair techniques.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus; experience working with automotive service standards is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately while following safety procedures diligently.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
