THE WE STORE CANNABIS HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

In this role, you will perform various HR duties, including but not limited to, managing employee relations, compensation, assisting with payroll, crafting and maintenance of HR policies/SOP's, coordinating HR related items with Management with an emphasis on RECRUITING. You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You’ll act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.
Responsibilities, overall but not limited to:
· Understand the dynamically changing Retail Cannabis environment and cater to the recruitment needs.
· Compose compelling job advertisements to post on major job boards and other relevant websites
· Screening, shortlisting, interviewing, and checking references of candidates.
· Submit education/credit/criminal background checks.
· Maintain paperless files by entering and scanning candidate documents, pass relevant information to Payroll for processing
· Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
· Attend weekly Leadership and Management ongoing meetings as well as taking meeting notes and sending out to team members
· Prepare H.R. related communications for candidates, employees as well as for Service Canada as needed
· Review and manage our Hiring Platform and communicate with Managers about candidates
· Generate company payroll summary to be submitted and reviewed prior to the payroll run
· Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise independently or with Management as needed
· Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
· Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
· Keep track and organize employee performance reviews
· Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
· Ensure compliance with labour regulations and ESA standards
Qualifications:
· At least 3 years experience as an HR Generalist
· BSc/BA in Business administration or relevant field
· Additional HR training will be a plus
· CHRP/ CHRL will be an asset.
· Knowledge of Employment Standards Act with current updates
· Knowledge of OHSA will be an asset.
· Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
· Outstanding knowledge of MS Office including Excel, as well as Powerpoint, Outlook and PHRIS systems
· Excellent communication and people skills
· Aptitude in problem-solving
· Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
· Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
· A proven track record of being resourceful, delivering results and following through on objectives
· Experience working with a database would be preferred
· Fast learner with commitment to ongoing learning
· Ability to work in a team-oriented environment as well as independently
· Tact and diplomacy when handling confidential information

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
