Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various types of trucks, along with strong mechanical and electrical skills. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment for a growing company. This job position will take place in our Leduc shop, but may need to work outside, or assist with breakdowns on our equipment on site. We have a medium size fleet of roughly 20 plus heavy duty trucks and 10 light duty pickup trucks. Ability to work on the fly, by yourself and with others is ideal.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as concrete mixers and slingers
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs efficiently
- Operate heavy machinery during testing or troubleshooting procedures
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with installation and calibration of new equipment or components
- Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair is required
- Hands-on experience working with Trucks, mixers and slingers would be ideal
- Strong knowledge of schematics, automotive repair techniques, and electrical systems in heavy machinery
- Skilled in welding, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools for complex repairs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment as needed
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures for concrete and industrial equipment is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with good customer service abilities are essential for success in this role
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
