About this position:
Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Senior Youth Worker is responsible for organizing and coordinating all general aspects of the program. They will ensure that goals and objectives of the program are met and that the program is maintained and developed in line with its contract, as well as within the philosophy of McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association.
Shifts for this position are:
- Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Here is how you will contribute as a Senior Youth Worker within the Parkside Group Home:
- Establish working relationships with organizational staff based on McMan’s key values of commitment, trust, empathy, respect, and genuineness.
- Plan and supervise small group activities.
- Assist in the orientation, training and development of program staff and pursue areas of professional development relevant to McMan's objectives.
- Manage difficult behaviors by applying effective behavior management strategies.
- Perform regular file audits.
- Complete formal supervision for relief staff and practicum students.
- Be knowledgeable of community resources that will meet or enhance service participants' needs.

Here is what you need to have to get an interview:
- Degree/Diploma in human services field; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience and demonstrated competence in childcare/family support programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and administrative skills.
- Reliable vehicle, valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence for at least 3 years, and minimum $2M third party liability insurance, Driver’s Abstract with less than six (6) demerits.
- Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and clear Child Intervention Record Check date within the last six months.
- Current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate.
