Elementary School Teacher (JK to Grade 8)
Full-Time Contract Position
Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (6 to 8 hours per day)
Overview
Caledonia Islamic School is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and nurturing Elementary School Teacher for students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. This is a full-time contractual position with opportunities for growth as the school continues to expand.
The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment while supporting the academic, social, and spiritual development of students. Class sizes are expected to range from 15 to 20 students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the educational needs of students.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and school leadership to promote student success.
- Integrate Islamic teachings, values, and character development into classroom learning and activities.
- Participate in school programs, events, and extracurricular activities.
- Coordinate and supervise volunteers as needed.
- Maintain effective classroom management and positive student behavior.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Islamic principles, teachings, and values.
- Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or community setting is preferred.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a growing school community.
