Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Worker to join our team. This role involves supporting Transfer Station operations, sorting material and ensuring the efficient movement of materials into their segragated areas. The ideal candidate will have experience working around heavy equipment, and a strong work ethic to contribute to a safe and productive environment.
Responsibilities
- Direct incoming customers and trucks to appropriate tipping areas.
- Inspect incoming loads for prohibited or hazardous materials.
- Sort demolition, construction, and municipal waste into designated commodity piles (wood, metal, cardboard, drywall, garbage, etc.).
- Remove contamination from recyclable materials when practical.
- Assist customers with proper waste separation and disposal procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction environments
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance is an asset
- Ability to operate forklifts, loader, and other heavy machinery safely
- Strong physical strength for heavy lifting and manual material handling
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to safety protocols
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
